     Approved the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Proposed Policy Update 121. Update 121 reflects changes in the law based upon recent administrative law and court decisions. Revisions were made to policies:?   

    • CKE (LOCAL) Safety Program/Risk Management: Security Personnel [delete] 
    • CKEC (LOCAL) Security Personnel: School Resource Officers [add] 
    • CLB (LOCAL) Buildings, Grounds, and Equipment Management: Maintenance [replace] 
    • CRF (LOCAL) Insurance and Annuities Management: Unemployment Insurance [replace]
    • CVA (LOCAL) Facilities Construction: Competitive Bidding [replace]
    • CVB (LOCAL) Facilities Construction: Competitive Sealed Proposals [replace]
    • DEA (LOCAL) Compensation and Benefits: Compensation Plan [replace]
    • FD (LOCAL) Admissions [replace, with revisions recommended by Birdville ISD]
    • FFI (LOCAL) Student Welfare: Freedom from Bullying [replace, with revisions recommended by Birdville ISD] 

     Approved the proposed local policy updates: 

    • FFH (LOCAL) Student Welfare: Freedom from Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation [replace] 
    • FNG (LOCAL) Student Rights and Responsibilities: Student and Parent Complaints/Grievances [replace] 
    • FO (LOCAL) Student Discipline [replace]
    • FM (LOCAL) Student Activities [replace] 

    Approved the changes in the dates of the ¹í¹È×ÓÍø Board of Trustees meetings in November and December 2023. The November and December meetings fall during holiday periods. The changes are: Thursday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. and Thursday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. 

    Endorsed Justin Chapa, Arlington ISD, for the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors, Region 11, Position C. 

    Approved the resolution establishing non-business days in accordance with HB 3033 (88th Texas Legislature (2023)).   

    Approved the resolution establishing standards for campus security personnel. 

    Approved revisions to the 2023-24 Student Code of Conduct and Extracurricular Honor Code. 

    Approved the resolution recognizing 4-H as an approved extracurricular activity. Laura Miller, Brittnay Meyer, Robin Hall, Jacklyn Jones-Doyle, Alaina Woolsey, Christa DeStefano-Malik, Jordan Peldyak, Amanda Salinas, and Kate Marshall will be the adjunct staff members.   

    Approved Texas Principal Evaluation & Support System (T-PESS) appraisers for 2023-24. 

    Approved Texas Teacher Evaluation & Support System (T-TESS) appraisers for 2023-24. 

    Approved budget amendments.

    • Microsoft software licensing agreement from Dell Inc. 

     Approved the contract for: 

    • PSAT 8/9 and PSAT/NMSQT from College Board (Renewal).

    • Cisco network equipment from Flair Data Systems.
